RESERVATIONS AND DECLARATIONS

Declaration:


"In connection with the deposit of Denmark's instrument of ratification of the Optional Protocol on the Rights of the Child on the Involvement of Children in Armed Conflict [the Government of Denmark declares] that Danish legislation does not permit the recruitment of any person below the age of 18 in the armed forces."



TERRITORIAL APPLICATION


Note


With a territorial exclusion with respect of the Faroe Islands and Greenland. Further, on 23 January 2004, the Government of Denmark informed the Secretatry-General that it had decided to withdraw its territorial exclusion with regard to the Faroe Islands and Greenland made upon ratification. See also note 1 under “Denmark” in the “Historical Information” section in the front matter of [the electronic version on the website of the Multilateral Treaties Deposited with the Secretary-General; http://treaties.un.org/pages/HistoricalInfo.aspx].

In a communication received on 22 July 2003, the Government of Denmark informed the Secretary-General that “... Denmark's ratifications normally include the entire Kingdom of Denmark including the Faroe Islands and Greenland”.]
