The Government of Ghana welcomes the general recommendation adopted by the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination at its 112th meeting, on 18 August 1972. The Government would like to express its agreement with the observation that measures adopted at the national level to give effect to the provisions of the Convention cannot be divorced from measures taken at the international level to promote implementation of the principles of the Convention.

The Government would also like to add that she has no diplomatic, economic and other relations with the racist regimes in southern Africa.
