1 The former Yugoslavia had previously ratified CERD on 2 October 1967, CCPR on 2 June 1971, CESCR on 2 June 1971, CEDAW on 26 February 1982, CAT on 10 September 1991 and CRC on 3 January 1991. Subsequent to the dissolution of the former Yugoslavia, the Government of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia deposited with the Secretary-General notifications of succession to these treaties, with effect from 17 September 1991, the date on which it assumed responsibility for its international relations.

2 In its concluding observations adopted on 15 May 2008, the Committee Against Torture requested that additional information be submitted within one year, and invited the State party to submit its third periodic report by 30 June 2012.

3 On 19 November 2010, the Committee made a request for further clarification (see A/66/44 (2011) at page 146).
