1 The former Yugoslavia had previously ratified CERD on 2 October 1967, CCPR on 2 June 1971, CESCR on 2 June 1971, CEDAW on 26 February 1982, CAT on 10 September 1991 and CRC on 3 January 1991. Subsequent to the dissolution of the former Yugoslavia, the Government of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia deposited with the Secretary-General notifications of succession to these treaties, with effect from 17 September 1991, the date on which it assumed responsibility for its international relations.


2 In its concluding observations adopted on 29 July 1998, the Human Rights Committee set the date for the submission of the second periodic report at June 2000.


3 In its concluding observations adopted on 3 April 2008, the Human Rights Committee requested that additional information be submitted within one year, and that the third periodic report be submitted by 1 April 2012.


4 A follow-up report was received on 31 August 2009 and a reply was received on 24 June 2011. The Committee has sent reminder letters (see A/66/40 vol. I (2011) at pages 211-212).
