1 Formerly Yugoslavia. Effective 4 February 2003, the State of Yugoslavia changed its name to Serbia and Montenegro. Effective 6 June 2006, the state again changed its name to Republic of Serbia.


2 The Human Rights Committee set the date for the submission of the second periodic report at 3 August 1983.


3 In the 2003 annual report of the Human Rights Committee (A/58/40, vol. I), The Human Rights Committee has listed the initial report of Serbia and Montenegro as being due on 12 March 2002.


4 In its concluding observations adopted on 28 July 2004, the Human Rights Committee requested that additional information be submitted within one year, and requested that the State party submit its second periodic report by 1 August 2008.


5 UNMIK is the United Nations Interim Administration in Kosovo.


6 In its concluding observations adopted on 27 July 2006, the Human Rights Committee requested that UNMIK, in cooperation with the Provisional Institute of Self-Government (PISG), submit additional information within six months.


7 Replies were received on 4 November 2005, 24 November 2005, and 11 July 2006. At its eighty-sixth session in July 2006, the Human Rights Committee decided to take no further action.


8 The Human Rights Committee decided to schedule consultations with UNMIK (see A/62/40, vol. I, pages 144-145). Subsequently, partial replies were received on 11 March 2008 and 7 November 2008. Consultations with UNMIK took place in July 2008 (see A/64/40, vol. I. Page 184). Subsequently, further reminders were sent to UNMIK, and a further meeting was held in July 2011 (see A/66/40 vol. I (2011) at page 203).


9 In its concluding observations adopted on 29 March 2011, the Human Rights Committee requested that additional information be submitted within one year and that the third periodic report be submitted by 1 April 2015.
