3 The former Yugoslavia (subsequently Serbia and Montenegro, now known as the Republic of Serbia) had previously ratified CERD on 2 October 1967 (and made the declaration under article 14 on 27 June 2001), CCPR on 2 June 1971, CCPR Optional Protocol on 6 September 2001, CCPR Second Optional Protocol on 6 September 2001, CESCR on 2 June 1971, CEDAW on 26 February 1982, CEDAW Optional Protocol on 31 July 2003, CAT on 10 September 1991, CRC on 3 January 1991 (and accepted the amendment on 4 October 2001), CRC Optional Protocol on Armed Conflict on 31 January 2003, and CRC Optional Protocol on Sale of Children/Prostitution/

Pornography on 10 October 2002; it had also signed CAT OPT and CMW on 25 September 2003 and 11 November 2004, respectively. On 3 June 2006, the Republic of Montenegro became an independent state, and subsequently deposited on 23 October 2006 its notification of succession to the treaties to which Serbia and Montenegro was a party or a signatory, as from 3 June 2006. On 2 May 2007, the Republic of Montenegro deposited a further instrument of ratification for the CRC Optional Protocol (Armed Conflict).
