1 Effective 4 February 2003, the State of Yugoslavia changed its name to “Serbia and Montenegro”. Effective 3 June 2006, the state again changed its name to Republic of Serbia.
2 “Ratification” includes ratification, accession or succession.
3 In the case of CERD - Article 14; CCPR - Article 41; CEDAW OPT - Article 10 (Re: Articles 8 and 9); CAT - Articles 21, 22 and 28 (re: Article 20); CAT OPT - Article 24 (Re: Parts III and IV); CMW - Articles 76 and 77; and Enforced Disappearances - Articles 31, 32 and 42, the State has the option of making a “declaration” in accordance with the terms of the respective Convention.
4 The table information contains the original date of ratification by the former Yugoslavia. On 12 March 2001, the Government of Yugoslavia notified the Secretary-General of its intent to succeed to the Conventions, as from 27 April 1992.
5 “a” means acceptance of the amendment.
6 “s” means that the State is a signatory only.
