C 8.Romacommunitiesaremoreandmoreinvolvedinshapingthesepolicies.Theirconsultationhas e beenfacilitatedbytheestablishmentofthesystemofminorityselfgovernments.Some420local N Romaselfgovernmentsworkedbetween1994and1998andtheirnumberhasalmostdoubledafter  7 theelectionsin1998.IntherecentminorityselfgovernmentelectionsinOctober2002,1,007local !   Romaselfgovernmentshavebeenelectedwhichis30percenthigherthaninthepreviousperiod.
