  • The information in this section ("all committees up to January 2001") was compiled in the course of preparing the 2001 report to the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (Report: Universality at the Crossroads) and is a collection of working methods which includes a great many details not articulated in print by the treaty bodies. It is accurate to January 2001.

Since 2001, new Committees have come into existence, and periodically the pre-2001 treaty bodies make changes to their working methods. Updating their working methods on this site relies on the treaty bodies' own accounts of recent developments. The remainder of this section contains the written accounts of the treaty bodies on their working methods post-January 2001, up to November 2009.
